My first dog was a non pedigree bred dog, this was in 1976, the times Irish Setters were very popular. But after having entered this dog at a show, at this Eurodogshow, I discovered this was not really a showdog and a second male from good breeding was bought. Later another male joined, an English import bred on popular UK lines and was followed by a bitch imported from the UK who was the start of our small Norcroft kennel.

As I was always interested in English Setters as well an English Setter bitch was bought in the UK. Both bitches became champions and did successful breeding from them and their progeny.

As time and professional duties didn’t really allow, the number of litters bred is rather limited in the many years of involvement with Setters but very good results were achieved breeding champions and winners on breed specialties in both breeds, winning BOB and BOS on several occasions in Europe and although most may know me as an Irish Setter person the greatest successes were achieved with English Setters.

But soon I became interested in judging. My first CAC judging was for Irish Setters in 1988, but soon also the other Setter breeds and the English Pointer followed.

My judging interest extended to the other British gundog breeds mainly such as Spaniels, Retrievers, but also the other breeds in group 8 such as Waterdogs, they are just my favourite breeds. It has been my choice not to extend judging in other FCI groups as I just love judging these breeds only.

Over all those years I have judged Setters, Spaniels, Retrievers and Waterdogs all over Europe on so many occasions, many of them were Club Breed Specialties, on important all breeds CACIB shows including World Dogshow. Judging also took me to Australia and the UK where by the end of the year I will have judged 13 times a breed on CC level and 2 Gundog groups.

I am very much looking forward to be once again at this prestigious show and to judge your dogs.
